Gabriele Dell'Otto

Gabriele Dell'Otto was born in Rome in 1973 and studied at the European Design Institute. His early work ranged from scientific illustration to calendars and video game covers.

In 1998 he started painting covers, posters and lithographs for Marvel's European editions. In 2002 Joe Quesada picked him to paint Secret War, which came out in 2004 and made his name with American readers.

Since then he's painted covers for Annihilation, X-Force: Sex and Violence and a long list of Marvel books, plus the spine art for The Official Marvel Graphic Novel Collection. His classical, painterly style looks especially good on a virgin cover.
