About the artist
The story behind the art
Frank Miller is one of the most influential creators in American comics. His run on Daredevil in the late 1970s and early 1980s introduced Elektra and reinvented the character.
In 1986 The Dark Knight Returns changed how superhero comics were made and marketed. He followed it with Batman: Year One as writer, then Sin City and 300.
In recent years Marvel has released a string of Miller variant covers, and the virgin incentives on Captain America, Amazing Spider-Man, Red Hulk and more are prized for their loose, gestural line.
